To promote their campaign, Friends of Nutsford Vale made banners and members took them to the community consultation events, meetings or rallies with the hope that their campaign to Save the Vale would be recognised by the general public and the media. To keep costs to a minimum the group used cloth and paint and created the banners amongst themselves. To engage people in the campaign local children contributed to the design.
In March 2017, Friends of Nutsford Vale organised an event called ‘Make Some Noise’. Their large handmade banners were tied to railings so people walking or driving past would stop and notice them. The scale of the banners meant that the group were able to personalise a letter each. The scale of this collaborative effort encouraged people to engage with their story to save the vale.
